Pat Yourself on the Back – Give Yourself Credit

If you are sticking with it, then you can feel good about your efforts. Compliment yourself for how far you have come and how much you have accomplished on your dissertation!

Keep copies of every version of your manuscript in a box or cabinet with dates at the top. By printing hard copies, you see the progress that you’re making. You may have started with four or five pages, but now you have twenty-five or even sixty-two pages. Usually, this evidence resides within the computer’s memory, but when you actually print it out and staple it together to hold it in your hands, you can envision the completed dissertation. It is a book. However, seeing your progress on the printed page will help you feel you are closer to dissertation completion.
