Remember that as a doctoral student, you have the knowledge and skills to conceptualize and write your dissertation. You have spent an extensive time reading books and journal articles. You have the cognitive and behavioral abilities to complete a final product that you will be proud of. It is so easy to forget your own talents. When you stop and consider how many research papers you have written since you were a freshman in college, it is clear that all those writing experiences have brought you this point of doing your dissertation. It’s like every course you took, every paper you wrote, every book you read, and every lecture you attended, was part of a training program to get you to this point in your academic career where you are writing your dissertation. And I know you can do it and so do you.
